Growing Things

 Number recognition activity. The friends read a number on the lima beans and place it in the correctly labled planter. 

 Chayala holds the knife steady as she cuts thin slices of strawberry. 

 Peretz mixes red and orange paint to mimic the picture of flowers he is copying. 

 Tzemach finds the matching number!

 Sara uses the ABC reference strip on at our writing center.

 Thank you to Jacob and his family for the delicious fruit this week! Jacob was very proud of what fruit he brought. 

 Socializing and drying up.

 Tzemach aims at the trees so he can water them. 

 We talked about flowers and trees and the sun and water they need to grow. We looked at the celery, got a chance to feel it, smell it, and talk about the taste of it. We placed three pieces into different colored waters. We hypothesized. Here are some of the children's ideas. 

Chayala: "It will grow."

Peretz: "It will grow huge."

Sara: "Maybe it will grow all colorful."

We will keep watching them to see what happens. 

 We made our own placemats for lunch time. We wrote our names, and drew pictures of ourselves so we can find our placemat when we need to use them.
