Signing In

Today the children signed in to school.
Each child attempted to draw their letter!

This is a great start!

We practiced the shape of our letters with floam.
Some of us worked on the second letters of our name.

Sender counted the correct number of pumpkin seeds and placed them into the tray with numbers and dots.

Admiring our art work.

We had a Yoga Adventure!
We took some deep breaths.

Looked through our binoculars.

Rubbed our tummy and patted our heads at the same time!

Made a slide with our bodies.

Balanced without hands or legs!

What's in the pumpkin?

Today we had a pumpkin exploration:

What do you think is inside the pumpkin?
Kayle said, "Challah."
Marnie said, "Toys"

"It looks like watermelon", said Kayle.
There were seeds inside.

We used spoons to scoop out the seeds.

Marnie tried using the tongs.

Mendel scooped a lot of seeds.

We counted 10 pieces of pumpkin.

We washed the seeds and left them to dry.

The roast pumpkin...

...tasted delicious.

Our brave tasters :)

More fun from today:
We have a basket to collect new materials.

Marnie had a look inside and took the foam boxes to build with.

Our leaf experiment:
We collected some leaves from the playground.

Kayle chose a big leaf.  She stands tall as a tree and drops the leaf.
We watch it fall to the ground.

Mendel stood on a chair and watched his leaf drop down.

We saw some of the leaves flip and dance on their way down.
We took a big leaf and small leaf, and wondered which one would land on the ground first.
Some children thought the big one, some the small one and some the at same time.

Henny tried dropping both leaves together.
We noticed the big leaf touched the ground first.
Experimenting was fun!  And so was hypothesizing!

It's Friday!

Today at Shabbat Live, Marnie was the Shabbat Ima.

Drawing and gluing.  We practiced drawing spirals.

Hanna and Kayle love dressing up as Moms and engaging in imaginative play.

Kayle sorted these items by color.

The children shaped their Challah into spirals and flowers.

Fruit faces!

At Shabbat Party, we had Mummy and Malkie join us.
Malkie asked, 'is it Shabbat yet? and Mommy told Malkie, 'no, first we have to clean the house, go shopping, cook the food, set the table, give Tzedakah and light the candles.'

Henny opened the class present.

It was a Tzedakah box.

We gave Tzedakah before Shabbat.

We lit the candles.

Made Kiddush

And ate delicious Challah.

Shabbat Shalom!
