Always cute for Shabbas!

Our Shabbat Party is always so much fun.  We sing, say brachot, eat challah and learn the words to set the table in Hebrew!  Enjoy the pictures!  I hope you all had a great Shabbat!

OPHIR day!!!

We learned to spell Ophir's name today!

Benjamin finds the O.

Zalman matches the P.

Moshe puts the Hs together.

Bella gets the final letter.

To open a restaurant all you need is a magna doodle!

The kitchen is always one of our favorite centers.  So much to do, learn, play and pretend.  Today Ayelet brought in a Magna Doodle, she had this awesome idea to use it as a waiter's pad in a restaurant.  See what happens when Morah and Ayelet bring Ophir!

Ayelet: Morah, do you want to play restaurant with me?
Morah: Always!  Maybe Ophir wants to play to?
Ayelet: Oh good idea!  Morah, do you want some chicken salad soup?
Morah: Yes, please!  Ophir do want something from the restaurant?

I repeated it in hebrew

Ophir:  Yes chips and candy!

Ayelet: that is dessert!  do you want chicken first?
Ophir: Ok and chipes and candy!
Ayelet: OK!

Always ready serve!  Our little restaurantor (sp)?

Today was Moshe Day!

After figuring out how to spell Moshe's name and then forming the letters, the children came up to match the letters to the name in order!

Btw, this is how we form the letters in Moshe's name:

M - Start at the starting corner, big line down, frog jump to the starting corner, diagonal line down, diagonal line flies back up and back down again.

O - Start at the starting center, magic C goes all the way around.

S -  "                                       ",little magic c, little curve.

H - Start at the starting corner, big line down, frog jump to the opposite corner, big line down, little line through the middle.

E - Start at the starting corner, big line down, frog jump to the starting corner, little line across the top, little line across the middle, little across the bottom.

All the children matched up the letters so well!

Ayelet looks for the M, she found it!

Zalman finds the O, same as in Ophir's name.

Binyamin matches the S, which begins Shmuli's name.

Benjamin matches the H.

Ophir: Those are the same letters in Shmuli name!

The things you find out when you sneak up on them!

They really recognize friend's names!

Shmuli: I see my name and Zalman's name and Ayelet on the bottom.  Bella and Ronny  are on the top.
Ophir: My name and Binyamin and Benjamin are there!

About last night...

The children had fun this morning working on the manipulatives set up from last night.   Two of the children were so happy to find the surprises left by the Immas and the Abbas!

Ophir and Binyamin work beautifully together!

Ayelet found note left by her parents and the letter matching done by Abba!

Ronny: That's my name!
Morah: I know your Imma and Abba did that last night!
The happiness was priceless!

Even better after finding the letter left for her!

Who doesn't love GAK??

Some mornings we can use a little Gak!  Sit, relax and mix, then play!

Special surprise for parents tomorrow! I will not show you the finished product.

 Ayelet and Ophir cut the apples in to chunks!

 So do Moshe and Shmuli!

Bella mixes the those apples with sugar and cinnamon.

Binyamin mixes the carrots that he had previously shred with Bella and Ayelet using a carrot peeler!

 Shmuli and Moshe add in the rest of the chopped apples.

 Now we are ready to mix the batter!

Ronny pours the sugar, without help and without spilling!

We learned something important today.  When the egg has blood spots it is no longer kosher and we may not use it!

Zalman spoons it all out!

Learning Our Names.

The next couple of weeks we will be concentrating on learning our own names and our friends names.  Yesterday was Ayelet Day and today was Bella Day.  

Ophir is becoming a name writing pro.  

Ronny and Shmuli look on as we look at the letters in Ophir's name.  Ronny noticed that she and Ophir have letters in common.
Ronny: That letter is in my name!

Zalman carefully writes each letter with Morah Oshrit!

Ayelet recognizes all the letters she needs to build her name.

Ayelet and Bella found the letters they needed in the sensory tub and now they are tracing or rubbing the letters at the writing table.
