What's inside?

Today the Yeladim took the pine cones they collected last week and watched the prints it made as they painted.

Peretz was mixing the colors together and made the sun

Mendel & Elet are transferring rocks from left to right practicing a pre writing skill.
Elet said " I have rocks at my back yard"
Elet and Jacob enjoyed the sound of the rocks
Elet has decided to check how the heavy pumpkin is going to make his playdough flat

The kids were interested to know what's inside the pumpkin so we opened it! Mendel said that inside there is an orange. Jacob did not like the smell of it.

Autumn is in the Air!

A Fall provocation was set out for the Yeladim today to make a still life drawing. Still life drawings are valuable since it requires the children to use something real as a guide for their creative expression. The Yeladim had a lot of questions about the squash too.

Nechama Liba and Mendel are exploring the orange Pumpkin
Mendel said "I think that there is dirt inside"
Hilary thinks that inside there are seeds and Sara said " I think that there is food in there."

MAZAL TOV Elet and his family! We drew some nice pictures for Elet's new baby sister!

Hilary is concentrating on a lacing card praciticing her fine motor skills.

The Yeladim used pipe cleaners to weave in the drying rack. Some children created patterns while honing their hand/eye coordination. Sara and Remy are working collaboratively on the weaving activity.

Yesterday we took a science walk outside for the kids to explore the changes in Autumn. They had fun finding colorful leaves and acorns. The Yeladim enjoyed passing by Hilary's house on our walk!

Letter Letters Everywhere - Simchat Torah

Today we talked about Chag Simchat Torah and how we are going to celebrate! We painted the flags with Hebrew letters since inside the Torah there are Hebrew letters.

The kids asked us if we can sing Tefillah in the sukkah and we thought that would be a great idea!
Peretz was very happy to hold the Torah very tight.
Elet  past the Tzdakka bottle, but before he did that he lifted it up in the air and said "I'm strong"!
The Yeladim had fun eating snack in the Sukkah too! Thank you Sara & the Costilo family for the delicious fruit this week!
Happy Birthday Hilary!!! Hilary was very excited that it's her Birthday today and she kept on telling us that she is 4! We sang for her and made her feel special.
When the Yelaim looked at the words 'Simchat Torah' we were noticing the first letter. Sara pointed excitedly at the S 'It's in my name!'. Peretz noted he has a 'T' and so does Elet!
We visited the synagogue and we danced with the Torahs in preparation for Simchat Torah.

A Wonderful Sukkot Day!

As a Math exercise, today we measured the Lulav to see how tall it is.
Peretz and Remy are using their fine motor skills to build shapes and structures through straws and pipe cleaners.
We shook the Lulav and Etrog and Mendel in front of all of us said the blessing all by himself! Good job Mendel.
All the kids got to have a chance to shake the Lulav.

Sukkot is a holiday of joy & unity! We had so much fun dancing to the music in the Sukkah with our friends and Morahs.
The bubbles added lots of fun too!

Sukkot is in the Air! Skills through Sukkot...

Today we painted with 'Schach' branches.

Chayala and Hilary are practicing counting numbers through punching holes in the schach leaves.
Look what the Yeladim found in the rice table!

After writing the letter 'S' for Sukkah and Schach , Sara and Nechama Lieba are cutting it out.
Peretz told Mandel "Your boat is next to mine, I'm making also a parking -lot it's not big"
We visited the Sukkah outside and the kids were excited. Chayala said, "the branches are on the floor and Nechama Lieba said "we need a ladder to be taller!"
Elet mentioned several times, 'We need some tools!' (Please see email about show & share tomorrow)

A Baking Provication - Math & Literacy

Mendel is pouring in an ingrediant into our honey cake batter.

The Yeladim wrote down the first letter in their ingredient necessary for the cake. Hillary wrote 'E' for eggs.

Water exploration in the Sensory bin!

Nachama Lieba is drawing a picture of her making a good choice to be attached to her Honey Cake.

Look at that train track Elet created!

Finishing touches on her honey cake.
