All about us!

We came into our classroom this morning to find our entire art center dumped in one big box. Without any hesitation, our friends got it all sorted out and organized within minutes!
In that box, there was a piece of a game from the 2's class. Tzemach went to go return it, and when he saw Sender passing by, he handed it to him.
Sara reaches up high to get the string fully through the hole.
Chayala wasts to make a heart with her floam.
Dalya strengthens her fine motor skills as she pushes the playdough through.
Tzemach and Peretz explore the magnetic pull and notice which items had it and which did not.
 "I made a person."
Elet signs in as he traces his name.
Helping cut snack. Thank you to Elet and his famliy for delicious snack this week!

We sang our song about what Hashem made on each day. We spoke about how Hashem made each of us on day 6.  We noticed that we cannot see ourselves, we can only see others unless we look in the mirror. We sat down in front of  mirrors and took a good look at our features and all the things Hashem created us with.

Peretz draws a triangle nose as that is how it looks from the angle he sees in the mirror.
Nechama Liba draws her nostrills
 Sara noticed her eyebrows.
Tzemach paints a "T" for his name.

Finger painting.

We read a book called "All about us." It is about Hashem creating us people with all our different parts so we can use them to do  Mitzvot/Good deeds.

Shabbat in the air!

Today we enjoyed Shabbat Celebration! Dalya helps light the candles.

Jacob helps hand out the challah.

Elet shares what he likes about Shabbat: "Challah"
Our friends help bring out the art table.

 shaping challah

We got out just in time to have some swimming time! We even stayed out in the drizzling rain!

Ou friends are amazing helpers and helped bring the cars inside for rainy day play.

 Watching the pouring rain.
Cutting out animals to put on our 'worlds'.

Sara sharpens the pencils. Besides for it being a great help to our classroom, the hand motions needed for sharpening help build fine motor skills.
Chayala and Nechama Liba prepare for Shabbos.
Decorating our worlds for the sixth day of creation by pasting on the animal pictures we cut.

Tzemach finds the matching word and animal.

 Celebrating Shabbat on their own!
Take a look that this family scene. Chayala cares for her baby, Sara. Nechama Liba- the infant, rests on the floor. Meanwhile the father, Tzemach speaks on the phone.

Jacob matches mama and baby animals.

Mama and Baby Animals

Sara signs in on our new sign in sheet. Our names are written in a tracing font so each of us can trace over our name and practice the strokes of the letters of our names.
Dalya pushes her chair in after cleaning up her lunch. This is something we have been working on and our friends are being very responsible and remembering to push their chairs in when leaving the table.
Jacob enjoys a back massage from the sprinkler.
Over the past two days we have been exploring animals and their footprints. Today, after swimming, we dipped our feet into white paint and walked down a long strip of paper. We noticed how each one of us has a different footprint as well. Peretz's foot print was big, Dalya's was small, and Sara's was thin.

We take a look at the lines on our hands and see that each one of us has a different handprint as well.
We read a book about baby animals.  With many animals that we are already familiar with, we now learned what they are called as babies. There were many interesting facts that this book shared. Here are some you may enjoy as well.

Puppies are born blind and deaf. Adult Rhinos weigh 2,000 lbs. The children pointed out that they would not be able to carry a rhino!! Garter snakes have 20 or more babies at a time. Chicks are born without teeth.
Chayala uses a tweezer (which builds fine motor skills) to transfer the cow's "spots" onto the cow.
After Nechama Liba put the spots on the cow, she counted them. She found the #6 card to represent the six spots on the cow.
Peretz matches each kind of mama animals with their babies.
Jacob 's unequivocal favorite center in the classroom is the block area where he loves to build zoos and farms with animals. Since we have been exploring animals, some of the other friends have taken an interest in this as well. Above Jacob, Dalya, and Tzemach work together to create a "zoo".
More friends join in building the zoo!

Tzemach holds up a small cow and tells his friends, "This is a calf."

Chayala pretends to be on the phone with her mommy. She prefered not to share what they were talking about. :)
