Happy Birthday Mendel!

Today we celebrated Mendel's 4th birthday!

Mendel shows us with his fingers.

We see how much Mendel has grown, and all the things he can do now that he is big:
talk, eat, write, help his Mommy, and clean up.

We sing and dance around Mendel.

Our birthday game of hot and cold was so much fun!

Mendel found his birthday present!
We looked at all the beautiful art his friends drew for him.

It was lovely that Mendel's sisters came to join too!

The children were so excited to have birthday treats for dessert.

Thank you Mendel's Mommy for bringing them!

More fun from today:
The children worked on their graduation invitations.

Henny and Ella practice their letters writing bee related words.

Busy Bees

A peek into our day:

Sender the worker bee helped build a hexagon in the beehive.

Marnie the worker bee put on a helmet and brought her tools to get the job done.

Worker bees buzzed around and found flowers to suck nectar from.

Meanwhile, Hannah, the queen bee was busy laying eggs in each hexagon cell.

More fun from today:
The children are touching up on their writing skills:

The children enjoyed easel painting today...inspired by bees.

Kayle painted flowers...

Sender painted a striped bee with big eyes.

Henny and Hannah painted flowers too.

Feeding Baby Bee

Today Kayle and Sender helped build a hexagon with six sides.

Henny dressed up as the queen bee.

She laid an egg inside the hexagon cell.

Kayle dressed up as a worker bee...

...and went to find some flowers.  She sucked the nectar with her proboscis.

Then she fed it to the baby egg.

Mendel went to every flower to get lots of nectar.

The children loved acting this out.

More hexagon fun:
Marnie traced hexagons.

Kayle used matchsticks to create hexagons.

Sender fit the hexagons together on the felt board to create honeycomb.

At circle time we use the numbered hexagons to practice numbers 10-18.

Number Games

Today the children enjoyed number games...
Marnie uses the domino to select 2 and then 3 dominos.  She counts 5 all together.

The children are able to recognize the domino numbers, say the number
and then choose the numeral figure.

Marnie writes the word bee.

And illustrates it.

Today we made letter Challot.

Kayle was the Tzedakah helper.

Shabbat Shalom!
