Shabbat Live

We had a lovely day getting ready for Shabbat...
We sang together at Shabbat live.

And danced all together in the Sukkah!

We made Challah.

We stamped our Shabbat bags.

Mayer parked his trucks in the Sukkah.

Mayer helped dry the slide.

Levi shared his book with Ido.

We used a magic wand to get ready for Shabbat today.
It worked like magic and we enjoyed Kiddush, Challah and songs!

Chana blessed the Challah.
Shabbat Shalom!

First Self Portraits

Today the children used cut outs to create their first self-portrait!

Nevin added hair to his face.

Chana and Levi carefully glued on the features.

We had S'chach branches at the cutting table today.

Nevin looked into the mirror and found me.
I moved around the classroom, and he was able to adjust the mirror to keep fining me.
We talked about the next Chag, Simchat Torah.

We played a tune and thought about how it makes us feel.
It was a happy tune.
We are excited to dance on Simchat Torah with our Torahs & flags.

A Fun Sukkot Day!

Today we had wooden pegdolls at our playdough table.
Ido made them ice cream.

Nevin made them some food...

Banana, string bean and a cookie!

Nevin decided to build another Sukkah of his own.
And build a second level.

Together Ido and Nevin build a super tall Sukkah.

The children got to paint with branches!

Levi's big brothers came in with a Lulav and Etrog.

Ido wanted to smell it.

We all had a turn to shake it!

We were excited to go and visit the big Sukkah outside our preschool.
We had a treat and our favorite music inside.

At circle time we looked inside a mirror to see what we could see.

We then did a great job of re-creating a face!

We know on Sukkot we are so happy!

Getting ready for Shabbat

Today we prepared our Sukkah mobiles and got ready for Shabbat.
The children found their letter and put stickers on it.

We did some more beading...

...and hung our work on a branch!

Levi's fish helped him make his Challah today.

We prepared for Shabbat...cleaned the house, shopped, cooked, set the table and gave tzedakah.

Ido blessed the Challah.

Shabbat Shalom!

Can you build a Sukkah?

Today's provocation was a Sukkah built out of Magnatiles.

Nevin holds a branch and asks, "is this real?"

We build a Sukkah out  of blocks and put people inside.

The children help build a Sukkah out of cardboard!

They help cut 'Schach'

And place it on top!

And have turns sitting inside!

The children built there own Sukkah's out of Magnatiles!

We were so happy to welcome Ido to our class.
Many of our friends remember him from last year and were happy to see him.

At circle time we practiced using our 'talking stick', to give each child an opportunity to tell us about what happened yesterday, on Yom Kippur.
