Our Palace is up and we are ready to dress up! 

The children loved dressing up as kings and queens.

Painting the Palace

Today the children were so excited to help paint a big palace.

Ido helped squeeze out the paint.

 

Lots of collaborating and working together.

Sensory Play

Today we started with some sensory fun:

Hands in shaving cream!

Sensory activities like these have so many benefits, including:

• Self-esteem: sensory play offers kids the opportunity for self-expression because there is no right answer and children feel safe to change or experiment with what they are doing.
• Encourages Imagination and creative play.
• Language development- experimenting with language and descriptive words.
• Building up their fine motor skills and coordination, thorough encouraging children to manipulate and mold materials.
• Unstructured and open-ended rather then product-oriented.  It is the purest sense of exploratory learning.

The children made circles and waves and oceans with sharks and many other stories.

Using it to decorate a palace!

Chana copies the word 'palace'.

Mayer and Ido enjoyed a new book on cars. 

They had a conversation about the red racing car.
Ido told Mayer he would drive in his car.

Chana fixed the motor cycle, using a variety of 'equipment'.

Our Art in a Show!

Today the children got to see their work in an Art Show!

The children were so proud of their work, and thier friends work.

We talked about the artists and the art they creatd.

It was lovely to bring closure to this unit.

"I love Ella's butterfly," said Chana.

We had a lovely Shabbat party with the 2's class.

Lots of Colors

Today the children enjoyed water color painting.

We practiced using one color at a time, and not mixing.

We loved watching the paintbrush twirl inside the paint.

And see how the rich color falls onto the paper.

The children made jewelry today.

Levi noticed a pattern on his string.

We enjoyed cutting the pineapple today.  

Smelling it, and eating it.  It was so juicy and sweet!

 

We went outside to play in the snow.

"There's a lot, a lot of snow", said Ido.

"It's so shiny", said Chana

Friday Fun

Today we had Shabbat live!

Mayer helped pass out the vegetables.

Nevin passed around the Challah!

Nevin and Devorah created a extravagant town, incorporating so many different toys.

We loved being outside today and enjoyed the sun!
