Spring Walk

Today we took a very special spring walk.
We looked out for signs of spring...

and found many beautiful flowers...

The children played with shape and number stamps.
Naming the numbers they were using.

Marnie noticed the ink pads were the shape of a hexagon.

Ella asked, "What's 5 and 5?"
We put out five stamps and five stamps and Ella counted 10.
"That's how big your sister is, Hannah!"

Hannah draws two lines, "that's 11!" she says.
Then she turns it into an H, and then connects another H to it.
So much literacy fun!

Kayle writes the word, "Spring".

Still Life Drawing

Today the children attempted to draw one of the plants we grew.
Kayle drew lots of flowers.

Hannah studied the shape of the leaf.

Kayle set up a camp fire and invited her friends to join her.

Marnie gave her baby a chair to sit on.

It started raining, so we set up a tent and stayed dry underneath.

Today's easel art was free style.  Marnie drew her friends.

Kayle painted lots of bees.

Henny painted a flower.

Ella counts 12 'Har Sinai's'

Every day we spell out our snack and write a number so the children know how many of each to take.

The children have become excellent counters!

Honeycomb stamping

Today the children were so excited to do honeycomb stamping!
Roll brush in the paint.

Roll over honeycomb stencil.

Pat, pat, pat...

And look at the print!

Wow!

Today the children removed the tissue paper from their art...to see a beautiful pattern.

We used this for our invitations to our graduation...

Hannah and Marnie talked about planting.
Marnie puts an acorn in the pot, "First it grows into a seed, and then it grows into a plant."

Kayle dressed up as a queen bee and fed her baby bees lots of yummy things:
corn and milk as well as cupcakes.

Peek into our Day

Today we tried a new art technique.  Using water and tissue paper, to allow the color to come through.
We are curious what it will look like when it dries.

Henny used sea shells to add 4 & 3.

Ella created a hexagon with playdough.

Henny did a lot of baking today in her chef apron.

Hannah notices how tall the plants have grown.

The children are able to divide their dough into 3 and roll out three strips.

Hannah is proud of her creation.

Kayle reads a book about plants and notices how our plants are the same.

Shabbat Shalom!
