Bees

Today the children used droppers to move 'nectar' from flowers to the bee hive.

At recess Sender and Mendel were fascinated by a little insect.

"It has 3 and 3 legs", said Sender.
We noticed it likes to climb over things.

At circle time, the children each chose a bee fact.
They have 6 legs, 2 wings and 5 eyes.
Their cell is the shape of a hexagon.

We used six pieces to make a hexagon.
3 to make a triangle, and 4 to make a square.

The children are curious about adding 2 numbers together.
What is 1 and 1?
What is 1 and 2?
We also tried 5 and 5.  Ella counts 10.
