Messy and Fun + Shadow exploration

Sara is sorting pictures of daily activities based on the time of day that they are done. She puts the picture of a child sleeping in the "night" pile. She puts the pictures of people eating lunch, and going to school in the "day" pile. When she gets to a picture of someone driving, we discuss how it can be done both during the day and at night. Sara makes a new pile for the new category.
When Sara is finished, Peretz asks for a turn and Sara explains to Peretz how the activity is done.

Writing our names to sign in.
Sara sets the table for snack.
The friends decide to use sponges and soap to wash the pool and the hose.
During swimming there was a deep discussion going on about how we could get the water to reach the sky.

Dalia: ""I just figured something out. When I do this, the water makes a line!"

Jacob works diligently trying to wrap the pipe around the hose.

We have a recipe to make challah, but it needs to be big for everyone to see. Each of our friends help write part of the recipe. Dalia writes the number 4.

Jacob write a 1 and 3 for 13 cups of flour.
More shadow exploration: We put on music and dance in front of the projector with scarves in our hands.

Dalia: "My shadow is jumping!"
Peretz: "Mine is dancing!"

All of a sudden Morah Mushka turns off the projector. "Where did our shadows go?" She asks.
The friends look around a little confused.
"What is needed to make a shadow?" We think about that. Then Sara calls out, "Light!" We turn the projector light back on and Dalia shouts, "Hurray now we have out shadows back!"

Later on, Peretz notices a faint shadow in our regular lit up classroom. This sparks some more conversation about how shadows appear.
Lots of fun dancing with our scarves while watching our shadows do the same!

We talked about Hashems world being round (like a globe) and all of the places we know in Hashems world. Dalia said maybe Jacob knows Russia. Sara knew a place called Mexico. We also know we live in Maryland which is in America. Peretz also knows Seattle. Then we talk about all of the things Hashem created in the world. Jacob suggested "water". Peretz added that there are boats in the water, and that Hashem made the stars and moon. Sara said, "The sun." Dalia looked outside and pointed. "Trees!" She said.

We each chose a colored balloon and blew it up to represent 'Hashem's world'.
Then came the paper mache!! As Dalia put it, "This is fun and dirty!"

We plan to layer our "worlds" with the things Hashem created in the order He created them. What can we use to represent dark and light? Here are some ideas.

Dalia: "Light and dark markers."
Peretz: "Light and dark papers"
Sara" "Paint them black and white."

Dalia: "I am making lunch for Peretz."
Jacob: "It's a zoo with animals."
Peretz uses the direction cards to help him make the specific pattern with these wooden colorful shapes.
Jacob traces ABC letters.
Making challah dough. Peretz and Jacob help measure out the ingredients using the recipe we all helped write.
Jacob says, "I like sugar. I don't like salt."
