Today at the play dough table, we pretended our beads were chipmunks and made burrows for them to hibernate. This is 'symbolic play', where children use one item to represent another, an important factor in a child's cognitive and emotional development.
"It's hatching" said Kayle
"It's spring time" said Hannah.
"They're all hibernating in here" said Marnie
"All the chipmunks came out", said Sender.
Marnie helps Hannah hibernate under a chair.
Kayle is hibernating.
