Hibernating Chipmunks

Today we talked about what animals do in the winter.
The children suggested that the animals wear hats and coats and go inside a warm house.
We learnt that they make a cozy burrow and sleep there for the winter.

Marnie pretends to be a chipmunk and curls up in a 'burrow'.

We cover her with pillows and blankets to make sure she's is nice and warm.
She stays inside there until the spring.

Hannah is a chipmunk in her burrow too!

We made new playdough today.
Using conditioner and corn starch.

The children commented how smooth it was.

Sender made a snowman.

We had new toys in our sensory tub!

The children loved filling up jars and noticed all the numbered items inside.
Exposure to numbers during sensory play is a great way to reinforce learning.

So happy to run outside after many cold days.
