Today we turned our dramatic play area into a palace.
Marnie brought the Purim felt board inside the palace to play with the Purim characters.
Kayle starts to make food for the King's party.
Hannah, Henny and Kayle want to be princesses.
"What does a princess do?" I ask
"They are kind" says Kayle
Hannah went to get Queen Esther.
You can see them posing with her above.
We have royal thrones in the palace. Marnie and Mendel are King and Queen.
No, not what you think. Marnie is the King and Mendel is the Queen.
They decided :)
More fun from today:
Hannah creates a pattern with royal jewels.
We bead royal bracelets for Queen Esther
Invitations to the Art Gallery are ready to send!
The children help attach a stamp to the envelope.
And post it in the mail box!
We put up the little red flag, so the mailman knows it's ready to go!
At circle time we talk about costumes. What is a costume?
Hannah - dress
Henny - clothes
Kayle - Kings wear costumes
Sender - Also pyjamas
Marnie - I have a super hero costume with a cape.
We use costumes to tell the story of Purim.
Mordechai and Esther live in a Jewish home.
With a Mezuzah, a siddur and Tzedakah box.
King Achashverosh makes a big party.
He asks Queen Vashti to come, but she says no!
Kink Achashverosh is sad because he doesn't have a queen anymore.
