A New Artist: Alma Thomas

Today was a short day...but we still managed to learn a lot!
Firstly, we learnt how to rip paper.  It may sound like something you're born knowing, but there is a skill in getting the paper to rip...

Hannah got it down pat.  She filled up the entire red bowl.

It's a great activity to do around the table with friends...

The children filled up all these bowls!

At circle time we learnt about a new artist named, Alma Thomas.

We looked at her art.
"It looks like a rainbow," said Kayle.
"It has lines" said another.

We went ahead and used the small pieces we made this morning to create our own version of this...
The children chose one color and glued only on their line.

It came out great!
