Moments in Our Day

The Yeladim looked at words and wrote them out using their fingers in a fun and easy paint bag write and erase activity.

Below Bella made a 'C' in the word 'can.'

The Yeladim have become amused with Author Mo Willems through his famous Pigeon book series. About a month ago Morah brought in one and after noticing the children's interest in it brought it a couple more from the series this week.

Though they are quite amusing, sometimes the Pigeon throws a gets upset when he does not get what he wants etc. The Yeladim noticed this too. At our meeting time we had a discussion about how there is something to learn from everything. Some things teach us how TO act and from other things we learn how NOT to act. Each time I turned a page to a not good reaction of the pigeon the yeladim gave a thumbs down.

Then each of the yeladim used the puppets to help the pigeon think of other ways to get what he is asking for that are more effective. Here are some of the ideas:
Zalman - Don't cry. Try taking 4 breaths. (a technique we use in our classroom)
Shmuli- Its too loud. (when you cry) Ask for what you want nicely with out getting upset.
Bella - If he wants a puppy, he needs to act very nicely.
Ofir - Pigeon, don't get upset just share the cookie.
Until now the Yeladim have cut on lines. Now the yeladim were given shapes to cut out. After cutting out shapes with strait lines, some took on the challenge of slanted lines in shapes and even circles!
