Zalman and Binyamin collected pine cones from outside, brought them inside and suggested we paint with them. That's exactly what they did.
Moshe brought a bottle to school so he could collect wood chips on the playground. He was driven from the moment he came into the classroom asking when we will be going outside. Just before we went outside he ran to his cubbie to bring out his bottle. Sure enough on the playground he got to work, filled it up, and brought in the finished product. Watching this process was very impressive. For children to create a focus and actually follow through until the end is so valuable in life.
Letter Letters EVERYWHERE! Binyamin found a the a letter in his snack. It was a 'Pey' for Peretz.
While reading Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, (a great read by the way) the Yeladim had a great conversation about weather that went like this:
Bella: When is gonna be the snow Winter?
Moshe: Hashem is so not nice cuz no snow
Ayelet: After Fall its gonna snow
Benjamin: When it gets really cold, the snow comes and then you go skying.
The Yeladim have a great memory and knowledge about winter. Lets see what deeper learning experiences this can lead to.
The Yeladim figured out how a stethoscope works. They tested it through blowing and talking.
