Science of Floating

Today we did an experiment, to see what would be a good basket for baby Moshe.
This plastic cup floated.

The children thought glass would sink.

Indeed, it was not a safe choice for baby Moshe.

What about this plastic cup?

It did float, but tipped a little.  Not a safe choice for a baby.  We want him to stay dry.

What about this wooden stick?

"It will flip because it doesn't have sides", said Kayle.

She was right.  Baby Moshe fell right off.
But look, the wooden stick is floating.

Everyone thought this wood basket would be a good choice.
And indeed it was.
"If there's a hole in it, water will get inside" said Marnie.

This stone sunk to the bottom.

"My baby Moshe can swim", said Henny.

More fun from today:
We got (Morah Sarah painted) a whole set of families, which the children have been enjoying.

Mendel lines up the people.

Kayle draws and cuts out 3 Matzot.

Marnie lines up the letters.

Marnie numbers her Ma Nishtanah questions.

Kayle write the numbers.

Mendel enjoys looking through his Haggadah.

The children are excited to take them home for Pesach.

Marnie and Henny set up the ball track, an exciting new toy we received last week :)
