A Shaving Cream Sensory Experience

We started to create the classroom tree after talking about trees and what lives in a tree. This will be an ongoing unit as the trees around us change with each season.  The children cut out leaf shapes and some glued actual leaves and branches onto the tree.
Peretz is focusing as he works to follow the markings on the paper with his scissor.  What a great fine motor skill he is perfecting!

Then we colored, stamped and painted the leaves. The leaves had several colors in them just like real ones.

In addition to working on the tree, we were all happy to welcome Remi back to school yesterday. He enjoyed the opportunity to play in the "smushy" "soft" "slide-y" shaving cream when he first arrived.

Elet joined in the fun too.

Other happenings:

Peretz drew a picture of squares within squares which he copied from a shape book.

Nechama Lieba elaborated by making shapes and then putting letters inside the shapes.

A shared family meal with everyone together.
