The shapes we find inside the apple

The children continue to sketch Rosh Hashana symbols, being more attentive to colors and shapes.

We sat together as a group to explore the apple inside.

When I cut across the green apple the children saw a star and a flower shape in the center.

The children talked about the seeds they were going to find inside the apple, but they saw none.

They dug into the apple to find the seeds.

They felt the texture of the "flower" and counted the "petals".

The red apple was cut vertically and the children said that they could see a line in the middle. They also noticed that they could see the seeds.
The children found more seeds inside the red apple than the green apple, they even found a white seed! We saved the seeds and the children had some ideas of what to do with them.

Today I introduced the chime, the sound of it is going to remind us to get together and talk.

Time can be a challenge, so we decided to count down the days until the holiday.

This is Lady Bug our class friend.
