Today we acted out the story of Chanukah!
Ella dressed up as the Kohen Gadol and helped light the Menorah in the Beit Hamikdash.
Marnie dressed up as King Antiyocush.
"No learning Torah!" she said.
The Jewish people hid in the cave with their Torah's.
Morah Sarah dressed up as the Greek soldier.
"Did you see anyone learning Torah?" she asked.
"We are playing dreidel", said Marnie.
We were very excited to dress up as Maccabees.
Sender was Yehudah Hamaccabee.
We had some Greeks, who messed up our Beit Hamikdash.
"That's not fair!" said Ella.
The Macabees chased away the Greeks!
And came back to clean up the Beit Hamikdash.
We looked for oil...but they were all broken :(
Marnie found one with the seal of the Kohen Gadol.
She helped us light it!
We lit our own Menorah for Chanukah day number 2!
And watched it burn low.
"It's like a baby" said Henny about the small candles.
